Al-Istiqlal University received on Tuesday a 15-person delegation of Arab translators participating in “Translation Week” conference which is being held by the Palestinian Ministry of Culture.
They were greeted by a. Dr. Abdel Nasser Qadoumi, the President of the University, who welcomed the visiting delegation on behalf of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University, Tawfiq Tirawi, and the academic and administrative staff of the university.
Dr. Qadoumi talked about the importance of culture and exchanging it between peoples and individuals."Despite the obstacles that exist in the lives of the Palestinian people, whether from the occupation or elsewhere, there are many creative people and intellectuals in all fields, and this contributes to the development of society and the enhancement of knowledge," he said.
In a related context, the President of the University pointed to the academic reality at Al-Istiqlal University and the continuous development in the bachelor programs (7) which are distributed on four colleges.
After meeting the president of the university and watching a short introductory film, the visiting delegation was accompanied by a guided tour for the university facilities and faculties, and a lunch was served.
It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Culture in the governorate of Jericho and the Jordan Valley enjoys a privileged cooperative relationship with the University to make the cultural process and all related activities in the governorate and the homeland successful.
