HE Major General TawfiqTirawi, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al-Istiqlal University, accompanied by the President of the University and his deputies, the Director of the Department of Medical Services and a number of deans of the colleges, inaugurated the Department of Medical Services which is funded by the Palestinian businessman Ahmed Zaki Yahya.
HE Maj. Gen. Dr. Tirawi praised the efforts of doctors and pharmacists in the Department of Medical Services and the servicespresentedto the students and staff by the clinic. He also thanked the donor Ahmed Zaki Yahia for his contribution to the rehabilitation and equipping the Department of Medical Services.
For her part, Anwar Abu Hanoud,the Director of the Department of Medical Services, clarified the nature of the services provided in the department which are distributed among four sections: (clinic of human medicine, dental clinic, counseling clinic, pharmacy), in addition to increasing the number of human staff of doctors and pharmacists.
Hanoud and the medicine staff with Al-Tirawi and the presidency and administration of the university had a tour to the sections of the departmentin a recognition of the services presented to the students and the personnel. She pointed that treatment and medicine are free for the students. The dental clinic offers free service to students, and staff receive it at a nominal price and lessthan the price of the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
His Excellency Major General Al-Tirawi honored Ahmed Zaki Yahya and gave him an appreciation plaque for his efforts presented to the Department of Medical Services. The Director of the Department of the Medical Services also presented an appreciation plaque to the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for his continuous efforts and support.
The Department of Medical Services was a sole clinic specializing in human medicine and pharmacy, and there are four staff, until the place was reformed and equipped with the necessary medical equipment and increased the medical staff to twenty employees.
