The Russian Ambassador presents a lecture on the History and Reality of the Russian Diplomacy in the world

Prof. Dr. Saleh Abu Osbaa, the President of Al-Istiqlal University, met Dr. Haidar Aghanin, the Russian Ambassador in Palestine, and the delegation accompanying him, prior to the presentation of a political lecture on the occasion of the "Russian Diplomacy Day", in cooperation with “Sergei Yassinen Center for Russian language and culture” and in the presence of the Vice President for academic, military and administrative affairs.

Prof. Dr. Abu Osbaa welcomed the Russian Ambassador, praising the permanent and continuous cooperation with the Russian Federation, congratulating him on the occasion of the "Russian Diplomacy Day", and discussing the ways of joint cooperation at the academic and security levels for the students and trainers of Al-Istiqlal University.

For his part, the Russian Ambassador stressed on providing all the necessary support for Al-Istiqlal University due to process standards on both academic and security, noting the Russian diplomatic role at the Palestinian case and the conflict with the Israeli occupation, in addition to the Palestinian factions’ dialogue conference which is prepared in Moscow to end the Internal division.

After the meeting, the Vice President for Military and Administrative Affairs took the Russian Ambassador to “Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed” Theater to give a political lecture about the “Russian Diplomacy Day”, which falls on the tenth of February each year.

Furthermore, Col. Salman Tayser Abdallah presented the Russian Ambassador to the students, mentioning the history of the Palestinian-Russian relations, and that Russian Federation has existed in the Palestinian history for more than a century and thanked the leadership and people of Russia for their constant support to the Palestinian people.

The Russian Ambassador started his lecture by talking about the "Russian Diplomacy Day" and the importance of diplomacy in the field of international relations, especially in view of the historical facts and the number of conflicts that happened from the beginning of creation which reached 14,000 wars and conflicts with 4 billion victims.

Moreover, Dr. Aghanin mentioned, for the students who attended from all disciplines and academic years, examples of the Russian diplomatic work and its importance on the global level, including the Palestinian case and provided a historical narrative about the Russian Federation at all stages.

Finally, Al-Istiqlal University enjoys continuous partnerships and cooperation with the Russian official institutions and universities.

Last year, for the first time in Palestine, the "First Russian-Palestinian Scientific Conference" took place in Al Istiqlal-University, with the participation of a number of Palestinian and Russian researchers from Russian universities.
