SPSS Statistical Analysis Course in a Cooperation with the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics

In a cooperation with the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, the Center for Measurement and Evaluation at Al-Istiqlal University organized a statistical analysis course by using the SPSS program for 25 members from the different faculties, on Sunday 17th of March 2019.

This session was opened by Prof. Dr. Muaweya Ibrahim, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Belal Ghanam, the Dean of the Scientific Centers, Mr. Mohamed Assaf, the Director of the Measurement and Evaluation Center and Mr. Mousab Abu Baker, the trainer of the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics.

Prof. Dr. Ibrahim said that the importance of the measurement and evaluation process is reflected on examinations and scientific research, stressing that the course will have positive impact on the skills of the teaching staff in this field.

Dr. Ghanam explained that this course is very important in terms of timing and comes within the framework of the University presidency plan to enhance the scientific research and skills needed for it, adding that the statistical analysis course by SPSS programs represents the first cooperation with the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics , thanking them for their efforts in serving the educational process at the University, especially on providing researchers with the initial data for their researches.

For his part, Mr. Assaf, the Director of the Measurement and Evaluation Center, clarified the objective of the course which is to strengthen the capacity of the teaching staff in the field of statistical analysis and scientific research, which will be reflected positively on the students and the educational process at the University.

Finally, this course lasts for three weeks with (25) training hours and targeting (25) of the teaching staff at the University of Al-Istiqlal and is held as a result of the bilateral cooperative agreement between the University and the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics since 2016.
