The revival of the Palestinian land and Prisoners’ Days by planting trees bearing the names of the prisoners

Under the patronage and participation of HE Maj. Gen. Dr. Tawfiq Tirawi, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al-Istiqlal University, accompanied by Prof. Dr. Saleh Abu Osbaa, the president of the University, his deputies for Administrative, Financial, Academic and Military Affairs, the deans of colleges and staff, the Deanship of Student Affairs carried out the activity of planting olive trees bearing the names of the leaders of the prisoners’ movement and the names of the students’ parents who are in the Israeli jails, in the campus, on Sunday 14th of April 2019.

HE Maj. Gen. Dr. Tirawi stressed that Al-Istiqlal University will remain the incubator for the children of the prisoners, stressing that the purpose of this event, which is planting olive trees on the campus bearing the names of prisoners, is to remain rooted in the ground, greeting the male and female heroic prisoners inside the prisons of the occupation.

In a related context, Prof. Dr. Abu Osbaa mentioned that the Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli jails sacrificed their lives for the freedom of their country, saying “Al-Istiqlal University sends a message of loyalty and love to our brave prisoners, and the dawn of freedom is very close”.

It is noteworthy to mention that the Department of Guidance and Orientation, which is affiliated with the Deanship of Student Affairs, planted about (30) olive trees bearing the names of the most prominent leaders of the prisoners inside the Israeli jails, besides the names of the parents of the students who are in the Israeli jails.
