Dr. Raja Swidan, the Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and Hazar Ismail, a lecturer at the Faculty of Law, participated in the 9th Arab International Conference for Ensuring the Quality of the Higher Education, at the Lebanese International University, Bekaa- Lebanon, from the 8th of April 2019 until the 11th of April 2019.
The participation of Dr. Sweidan and Dr. Ismail was by a joint research entitled "The impact of promoting the culture of the total quality on achieving the competitive advantage inside Al-Istiqlal University from the point of view of its employees", which concluded several recommendations, the most important is the need to focus on the quality strategy at the University with the development and the improvement of the provision of services by the participation of all the workers, to maintain the available resources through the achievement of strategic objectives and the long-term planning and the diversity with the excellence of the academic programs which achieve the requirement of the basic educational services and support, to meet the need of students and their connection with the community.
Moreover, the scientific research resulted many recommendations, the most important that Al-Istiqlal University must verify the implementation of the quality management principles in its administrative units, providing the competencies and the incentives for the employees, with the need of good and accurate preparation for the provided services to meet the needs of the future labor market and creating effective channels of communication with the students and the staff.
Dr. Sweidan talked about the importance of Al-Istiqlal University participation in the scientific conference, especially that it aims to establish the rules of the total quality culture in the Arab universities, saying “It is expected that the recommendations and the results of this conference will promote the culture of the total quality, to achieve the competitive advantage between Al-Istiqlal University and other similar specialized universities in the Arab and the regional countries.
It is noteworthy to mention that Al-Istiqlal University, by its academic cadre, participates in the specialized scientific conferences in the Arab and the international countries, to meet its vision and strategic plan.
