Al-Istiqlal University organized an official reception for Mr. Savas Vladimiro, the Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus, to the State of Palestine, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Saleh Abu Osbaa, the President of the University, Col. Salman Tayseer Abdallah, the Vice President for Military Affairs, Prof .Dr. Moaweya Ibrahim, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Maj. Gen. Mohammed Haron, the Director of the International Relations Department, and a number of deans of the colleges, at the University, on Monday 22th of April 2019.
Prof. Dr. Abu Osbaa welcomed the Ambassador with giving a brief introduction about the development of the University on the academic and structural levels. Also, he discussed with the guest the ways of cooperation, especially in the field of security and the possibility of obtaining grants in higher education level for the students and the staff to serve the scientific process of the University.
For his part, Mr. Savas Vladimiro expressed his country's readiness to cooperate with Al-Istiqlal University in accordance with bilateral understandings through the Embassy of Cyprus in Palestine, in the near future, praising the development of the University and its leading role in supporting and providing the security institution with distinguished professional staff.
At the end of the meeting, Maj. Gen. Haron took the guest on a tour of the facilities and faculties of the University to follow closely the latest developments in the construction projects, as well as discuss the elaboration of a future joint security and academic agreement.
