HE Maj. Gen. Dr. Tawfiq Tirawi, the President of the Board of Trustees of Al-Istiqlal University, Prof. Dr. Saleh Abu Osbaa, the President of the University, and his deputies received Dr. Atef Abu Saif, the Palestinian Minister of Culture, in the presence of the members of the Advisory Council in the Ministry, inside the campus of Al-Istiqlal University, on Wednesday 4th of September 2019
Maj. Gen. Tirawi welcomed Dr. Abu Saif and the delegation accompanying him, stressing that he is a Fatah national leader at the security and political levels. Also, he is one of the Palestinian figures in the field of literature and culture, wishing him success with all the ministers of the government, especially in light of the current situation and challenges.
Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Abu Osbaa praised the importance of this meeting and the intermarriage of the culture with the higher education, mentioning that Dr. Abu Saif, is not only a minister, but a tremendous literary stature, noting that we may lose the different positions but the positive impact of each person which will remain.
For his part, Dr. Abu Saif expressed his respect to the role of Maj. Gen. Tirawi and the presidency of the University, saying what was said about me is very supportive, stressing the role of Al-Istiqlal University in achieving the goals of the homeland, clarifying that the conflict over this land is about history and novels, so we are in need for the Palestinian cultural care and learning, and for the protection of Palestinian national identity through the cooperation in the different cultural programs.
During the meeting, a short introductory film was presented about the establishment and development of Al-Istiqlal University, in addition to embodying the student's life inside the campus during his/her scientific and military journey
