Prof. Dr. Saleh Abu Osbaa, the President of Al-Istiqlal University, accompanied by Dr. Raja Sweidan, his deputy for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Col. Salman Tayseer Abdullah, hid deputy for Military Affairs, and Ms. Alaa Al- Shanti, the Director of Media and Public Relations Department, visited Mag. Gen. Iyad Barakat, the Head of the Customs Police Agency, in Ramallah, on Tuesday 17th of September 2019.
Mag. Gen. Barakat received the President of Al-Istiqlal University in the presence of his deputy Brig. Gen. Nedal Abu- Saeed, Lt. Col. Ahmed Besharat, the Director of Planning and Training Department, and the Lt. Col. Ibrahim Ayyash, the Director of Media and Public Relations Department. In addition, Mag. Gen. Barakat gave a briefing on the mechanism of the work, the role and the functions of the agency in serving the community and the Palestinian security institution.
For his part, Prof. Dr. Abu Osbaa gave a briefing about the University and its specializations in the field of security sciences, and its constant endeavor to develop and meet the needs of the security institution, stressing the importance of the relationship with the customs police Agency, especially that the University will start teaching “Custom Police” diploma soon.
In the same vein, Dr. Sweidan mentioned that the University is in the process of receiving the first students’ group of the intermediate diploma in the field of "Customs Police", in the second semester of the current year 2019/2020, praising the efforts of the Customs Police Agency, which deals directly with citizens.
Also, Colonel. Abdullah stressed the importance of holding activities and courses between the University and the Customs Police, pointing out the need to organize a "Specialized Course" by the best officers of the agency for the students.
It is noteworthy to mention that Istiqlal University, represented by its President and his deputies, continue to visit the security institution agencies, for promoting cooperation and lasting partnership to meet its needs and support its officers.
