Al-Istiqlal University and Military Training Authority inaugurate the closed course for the academic year 2019/2020

Al-Istiqlal University, in partnership with the Military Training Authority, inaugurated the closed military course (34) for the academic year 2019-2020, the number of registered students was around 418 in the Bachelor's and Intermediate Diploma programs, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Saleh Abu Osbaa, the President of the University, his deputies for Military and Academic affairs, Maj. Gen. Yousef Al- Helo, the head of the Military Training Authority, the deans of colleges and a number of officers, trainers and students, at the Military Training Authority headquarters, on Wednesday 9th of October 2019.

Prof. Dr. Abu Osbaa praised the Military Training Authority and its efforts exerted from the level of tests and acceptance of the new students, mentioning the importance of this course, which is based on the development of their personalities in giving, sacrificing, belonging and serving their homeland.

Furthermore, he thanked the Chairman of the Military Training Authority, on behalf of Al-Istiqlal University cadres and his staff, for providing all efforts in creating young leaders, noting that the Military Training Authority is an integral part of the University on the Academic and Military sides.

For his part, Maj. Gen. Al-Helo welcomed the President of the University and its cadres, clarifying the process of the new students’ selection, expressing his pride for the inauguration of the three-month closed military course, which is divided into two parts, the first 45 days of closed course, and other 45 days of normal course.

Moreover, he gave some advice to the students on the need for discipline, patience, obeying orders and commitment, also bearing the decision of joining Al-Istiqlal University, this great edifice, wishing the students the progress and success in this training course.

The Military Training Authority indicated that the number of the new students in the Bachelor program which reached (161) and the Intermediate Diploma program which reached (257).

It is noteworthy to mention that the Al-Istiqlal University and the Military Training Authority aim to build the Palestinian Security Institution on sound and strong foundations that can fulfill its duty towards the homeland and the citizen.
