Prof. Dr. Saleh Abu Osbaa, the President of Al-Istiqlal University, accompanied by Prof. Dr. Taha Hamdan, his deputy for Academic Affairs, Col. Salman Abdallah, his deputy for Military Affairs, Dr. Rajaa Sweidan, his deputy for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and Dr. Salwa Ramadan, the Dean of Student Affairs, visited Maj. Gen. Fadel Zeidan, the Director General of the Palestinian Central Financial Department, in Ramallah, on Thursday 31th of October 2019.
Prof. Dr. Abu Osbaa thanked Maj. Gen. Zeidan, for the cooperation of the Central Financial Department in developing and supporting Al-Istiqlal University, providing an overview of the new disciplines, explaining the future directions of the University which require human and material support, mentioning that the University conducts specialized courses in the Academic and Military aspects to enhance the capabilities of the students.
Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Abu Osbaa stressed that the University is keen on providing specific disciplines to serve the Palestinian Security Institutions, besides its future plan to support and develop the specialties of the intermediate diploma, and also provide a master's program in journalism and public relations.
For his part, Maj. Gen. Zeidan welcomed the President of the University and the delegation accompanied him, praising the efforts of Al-Istiqlal University and its staff, explaining the mechanism of work in some common matters between the University and the Central Financial Administration, pointing out the need of paying attention to the development of the Intermediate Diploma program and the importance of the internal performance of security institutions, wishing to reach the stage of the self-sufficiency in training and graduating students to serve the homeland and the citizens.
It is noteworthy to mention that the presidency of Al-Istiqlal University conducts permanent meetings with the Palestinian ministries and the official bodies, according to a recommendations of HE Maj. Gen. Tawfiq Tirawi, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, to develop the cooperation, the permanent partnership, and meet the needs of the Palestinian security institution.
