The Erasmus + team at Al-Istiqlal University completes a workshop in the UK

Al-Istiqlal University Erasmus + team, the Faculty of Humanities- Department of English, completed the training workshops visit to the United Kingdom – the University of Wolverhampton, which was between 21th to 26th of October 2019, in the presence of Dr. Nawal Sheikh, Dr. Hossam Kaddoumi and Dr. Khaled Masoud.

The training workshops were conducted inside the main campus of Wolverhampton University, including various teaching methods and its practical implementations such as Jigsawing, IBL, and PBL, with the integration of some technological applications such as Edmodo, TWITTER in the methods of teaching languages, and discussing the modern methods of assessment and how to activate the alternative assessment.

It is worth mentioning that the participants, including the Palestinian team and the British team, were divided into research groups, which seek a research partnership at the local and international levels, including the importance of being an international quality indicator.

Furthermore, Al-Istiqlal University team was appointed as responsible for preparing the Advanced English textbook, after the assignments’ distribution on the Palestinian teams, and the second training course will be held at the University of Anatolia in Turkey at the end of this month which will be in the field of technology in education.

Moreover, Al-Istiqlal University is working on this project in partnership with the Palestine Technical Universities Khadouri, Palestine Ahliya University and under the supervision of Al-Quds Open University.

It is noteworthy to mention that this projects aims to develop the staff skills in English at the Academic and Professional levels, so that they can provide flexible courses in English language and update it, to suit the skills that must be acquired as a result of the educational process, and develop the language skills of the students to have qualifications for the Palestinian labor market.
