A delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, represented by Dr. Ahmed Othman, the Director-General of Development and Scientific Research Department, and the delegation accompanied him visited the campus of Al-Istiqlal University to discuss the digital repository program (Dspace), in the presence of Dr. Khaled Daher, the Assistant of the Deputy of the Academic Affairs, and Dr. Mohammed Halasa, the Dean of the College of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, on Tuesday 21th of January 2020.
Dr. Halasa welcomed the attendees, explaining the importance of the digital repository program in counting the numbers and organizing the scientific researches, praising the cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, noting the need to promote and develop the partnership in several fields.
For his part, Dr. Othman thanked Al-Istiqlal University for the reception, praising its distinguished role in monitoring and communicating the Ministry which enriches and restricts the number of the various scientific researches to facilitate and develop the nature of the work system.
At the end of the meeting, the IT staff at Al- Istiqlal University gave a presentation on the working mechanism of the program which includes dealing with recording the research, the stages and procedures that the research goes through, until it is accepted and published on the site.
It is noteworthy to mention that Al-Istiqlal University, with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, aims to study this unique system to create a national digital repository at the Ministry.
