Al-Istiqlal University employees and students participate in the Blood Donation Campaign


The employees and students of Al-Istiqlal University participated in the Blood donation to the Central Blood Bank of the Palestinian Ministry of Health. This event came in cooperation between the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the Medical Services Department, and the Community Service and Continuing Education Center of Al-Istiqlal University, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Hamdan Taha, the Deputy for Academic Affairs at the University, and Col. Salman Tayser Abdallah, the Deputy for Military Affairs, inside the campus, on Monday 27th of January 2020.

The Deputies for Academic and Military Affairs at Al-Istiqlal University visited the students and employees during the event, stressing the humanitarian role of Al-Istiqlal University in serving the Palestinian society, besides preserving its security and stability, praising the efforts of the donors in providing the Palestinian Blood Bank for its positive effects in supporting the needy people.

For her part, Dr. Hazar Ismail, the Director of the Center for Community Service and Continuing Education, said that this campaign will continue for two days, aiming to promote the relationships between the members of the local community, raising the level of culture and awareness among students for the benefit of patients.

It is noteworthy to mention that Al-Istiqlal University seeks to hold these campaigns and events, to spread the culture of voluntary blood donation and cancel the compensatory donation of blood, especially for cancer, thalassemia and kidneys patients, in addition to all Palestinian patients in the different hospitals.
