The Academic Deputy gives a lecture for the students of the University about Tal Al-Sultan site

Prof. Dr. Hamdan Taha, Deputy for Academic Affairs, gave a lecture entitled Introduction to Archeology, during a visit organized by the Department of Tourism and Archeology at Al-Istiqlal University, in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, to the site of Tel Al-Sultan in Jericho, in the presence of Dr. Saleh Taha, the head of the Department of Tourism and Archeology, and a delegation from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, in the Jericho and Al-Aghwar Governorate.

Furthermore, he explained the types of archaeological sites, the concept of arising the archaeological site and its accumulation layers, with linking between the basic concepts in the field of archeology and visual observation of Tel Al-Sultan site. The visit covered the distinction between the concept of hill and ruin, besides the identification of the periods through the accumulation layers, mentioning the differences between civilizational systems which were resulting from human activity.

Al-Istiqlal University seeks to increase the cultural and civilizational awareness among its students about the history and civilization of the Palestinian people, in addition to the importance of preserving and protecting it.
