Al-Istiqlal gets the highest records in the World Military Running Marathon Day

Al-Istiqlal University got the highest records in the International Military Running Day for Peace, which was organized by the General Union for Military Sports with a distance of ten kilometers, in the presence of Mr. Jihad Abu Al-Asal, the Governor of Jericho, Dr. Maher Al-Whaidi, the Director of Medical Services, Col. Amal Khalifa, the Director of Military Sports, and several representatives of the Palestinian Security Services and local community institutions, under the patronage of Maj. Gen. Nidal Abu Dukhan, the Commander of the National Security Forces, on Tuesday 25th of February 2020.

HE Maj. Gen. Dr. Tawfiq Al-Tirawi, the President of the Board of Trustees of Al-Istiqlal University, congratulated the students who won the race, noting that more than two hundred participants from the various security and military services participated in the event, wishing them success in the different events.

Moreover, twenty-seven students from Al-Istiqlal University participated in the event, and won many advanced places in the Marathon, where its students got the first three places of the female category, respectively: Ruba Yassin, Nevin Dana, Manar Brahma, besides honoring the participants who got the first ten places of the male and female categories with the various institutions which participated in the event.

It is noteworthy to mention that the Department of the Student Activities at Al-Istiqlal University organizes many internal activities, and participates in the different external sports activities, to develop the skills of the students and raise their physical fitness.
