Al-Istiqlal holds an awareness lecture for first-year students in cooperation with the police

The Deanship of Student Affairs at Al-Istiqlal University, in cooperation with the Electronic Crime Prevention Unit of the Palestinian Police, organized an awareness lecture entitled "Psychological and Moral Effects of hacking the Smartphone of the Security Man" for the students of the first year, in the presence of Dr. B the Head of the Department of Administrative Information Systems at the University Dr. Bahaa Yahya, and First Lieutenant Engineer Ammar Dawabshe, a member of the Crime Unit and the Student Affairs Staff at the University, at Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Theater, on Tuesday 3rd of March 2020.

Eng. Dawabshe talked about the types of electronic crimes and the mechanism of dealing with the different complaints, providing a short summary of the unit’s establishment, and the most important annual statistics for social media users in Palestine, pointing out the danger of using these technologies nowadays, especially for the security personnel, saying "the responsibility is heavier on the security men, so any individual’s fault negatively affects the entire security establishment," explaining some models and cases that were subjected to electronic threat and blackmail, calling the students to be careful in using the smart devices.

It is noteworthy to mention that Al-Istiqlal University aims to develop the skills of its students and their abilities, besides promoting their knowledge in the different fields to meet the need of the Palestinian security and military institutions by holding courses and lectures in cooperation with many security services.
