Al-Istiqlal University graduates a training course entitled “The Basics of Document Examination” for students of Criminal Sciences in partnership with the Ministry of Interior

Al-Istiqlal University, represented by Brig. Gen. Salman Abdallah, the deputy for Academic Affairs, graduated a training course entitled “The Basics of Document Examination”, in partnership with the Ministry of Interior, represented by Mr. Yousef Harb, the Undersecretary of the Ministry, in the city of Ramallah, in the presence of Dr. Abdallah Mahmoud, the Dean of the College of Law, Dr. Khaled Abu Daher, the Assistant of the Academic deputy, Dr. Saber Al-Aloul, the Head of the Criminal Sciences Department, Brig. Gen. Najeh Samara, the Director-General of the Criminal Laboratory of the Police Service, Mr. Thaer Khalil, the Head of Juvenile Prosecution, Mr. Abd-El Majeed Ouda, the Director-General of the Information and Documents Security Unit, Mr. Ralph Lans, the Police Affairs Adviser at the German Representative Office.

Brig. Gen. Abdallah praised the efforts of the parts who participated in implementing the training course, pointing out its importance in providing students with capabilities and cognitive skills, and linking the theoretical side with the practical dimension, which will promote students’ knowledge and skills at the academic and military levels.

Furthermore, Mr. Harb indicated the Ministry's keenness to employ the best modern technological means and methods, and the distinguished human expertise in the Document Examination Center, to train and develop the members who will work in the field of checking paper transactions and official seals, and preparing highly qualified cadres in the civil and security institutions.

The course was held for two days in a row, with the participation of 27 students from the department of forensic sciences, and included several topics, most notably, anti-counterfeiting mechanisms, basic techniques for printing, light and color, document examination, international standards for official documents, combating forgery of seals, signatures and handwriting.

At the end of the event, Brig. Gen. Abdallah gave shields of appreciation to Brig. Gen. Samara, Mr. Khalil, and Mr. Ouda, for their efforts in implementing the course.
