HE Maj. Gen. Al-Tirawi meets with the founding committee of the Palestinian Dramatic Professions Syndicate

HE Maj. Gen. Tawfiq Al-Tirawi, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al-Istiqlal University, and the Commissioner of Popular Organizations met with the founding committee of the Palestinian Dramatic Professions Syndicate, in the presence of Dr. Al-Motwakel Taha, the Director of Al-Istiqlal Department for Culture and Publishing, Mr. Mohammed Ayyad, the Assistant Undersecretary for Cultural Affairs at the Ministry of Culture, and many people who are affiliated with the dramatic professions from the various governorates, on Monday, 1st of November 2021.

At the beginning of the meeting, Maj. Gen. Al-Tirawi welcomed the attendees, stressing the importance of the arts in protecting the Palestinian national project, promoting the culture of accepting different opinions, touching the concerns of the Palestinians and their aspirations towards freedom, and their legitimate rights to establish an independent state.

Furthermore, Al-Tirawi reviewed the newly developed programs in graduate studies, diploma and bachelor’s majors, and their objectives which aim to create a state on scientific grounds, besides providing the security establishment in all its branches with qualified, knowledgeable, and skilled officers, who have commitment, discipline, affiliation, and loyalty, to serve the homeland and the citizen.

Moreover, he presented a brief overview of the University’s establishment, its achievements at the local and international levels despite its recent inception, and its vast area to be one of the largest Palestinian Universities, besides its keenness to be a green University, as well as its external relations in the field of scholarships, exchange expertise and benefiting from its previous experiences.

Also, he referred to the University’s projects which are under construction, including the College of Information, the hospital, the cultural center, in addition to working on preparing the criminal laboratory, and most notably the “Tourist Panorama” to identify and see the Palestinian archaeological areas and the successive civilizations on the land of Palestine.

For his part, Dr. Taha talked about the role of Al-Istiqlal House in accessing the world literature, and the library of the Martyr Khaled al-Hassan, inside the University campus, as a window of knowing the different cultures and sciences, especially after digitizing it to be available to everyone, and the Al-Istiqlal Group for Folk Arts as the artistic representative of Palestine in the Arab and international forums.

It is noteworthy to mention that Al-Tirawi announced, a few days ago, the start of the actual procedures for establishing the Syndicate of Dramatic Professions, which include the cinema, theater, and television drama sectors.
