Prof. Dr. Abu Osba receives a delegation from the Palestinian Academic Council

Prof. Dr. Saleh Abu Osba, the President of Al-Istiqlal University, received a delegation from the Palestinian Academic Council headed by Dr. Iyad Delbah, in the presence of the deputies for Academic, Military, Administrative and Financial Affairs, the Assistant to the President for Planning, Development, and Quality, besides Dr. Jamal Hussien, the Vice President of the Council, Dr. Mohammed Al-Masri, the Secretary of the Council, Dr. Mohammed Amarna, the Director of the Public Relations at the Council, and the deans of the colleges.

Prof. Dr. Abu Osba welcomed the guest delegation, praising the partnership with the Palestinian Academic Council and the possibility of hosting activities and events, and organizing scientific meetings, in a way that serves the educational system, improves its quality, and benefits the public interest.

For his part, Dr. Delbah expressed his happiness at the meeting, and his willingness to discuss ways of partnership and support its development, noting the role of the Council in promoting the skills of academics (Ph.D. students), besides presenting the research studies and the scientific inquiries to the concerned authorities, following up on their implementation, holding periodic conferences, and translating its recommendations on the ground.

Furthermore, Dr. Al-Masri spoke about the importance of creating a link with the Palestinian Security Establishment in all its branches, and with “Al-Istiqlal University” as an essential tributary to it, and achieving effective participation of the academics in the various cultural, social, and political tracks, in a way that expresses Palestine and the culture of the Palestinians on the ground.

In conclusion, Dr. Hussien talked about the mechanism of membership in the Council, the internal elections, and how to promote joint work with higher education institutions and security services through holding courses, lectures, and exchanging expertise with the concerned bodies.
