The Director of Interpol Palestine presents a lecture entitled “Palestine after joining the International Criminal Police Organization”

Al-Istiqlal University organized a lecture entitled "Palestine after joining the International Criminal Police Organization", presented by Brig. Gen. Dr. Mahmoud Salah El-Din, the Director of Interpol Palestine, in the presence of Dr. Ghassan Omar, the Director of the Institute of Training and Development, Lt. Col. Tariq Shukair, and Maj. Imad El-Din Younis, from the Military Department, at the Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan Theatre.

Dr. Omar welcomed the guest on behalf of HE Maj. Gen. Tawfiq Al-Tirawi, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Prof. Dr. Saleh Abu Osba, the President of the University, stressing that this lecture would raise the level of awareness and knowledge of fourth-year students, by focusing on mental and intellectual skills, and promoting the theoretical courses offered with additional intensive information, besides the resulting comprehensive qualification that combines the scientific and practical aspects, to prepare qualified students to join the Palestinian security establishment, each in his/her specialty and field.

Furthermore, Brig. Gen. Salah El-Din reviewed the stages that Palestine went through before joining the International Criminal Police Organization, the challenges and obstacles by the occupation and its allies for not adopting Palestine as an effective state, but the diplomatic efforts at the internal and external levels prevented this.

Moreover, Brig. Gen. Salah El-Din discussed the tasks of Interpol, the general structure, and the powers entrusted to it, including the pursuit of criminals on the land of Palestine, the possibility of exchanging expertise, and following up on some cases in the fight against financial and electronic crimes and drugs, combating terrorism, and other issues that take an international character, in addition to the political and legal achievements.

In conclusion, this event comes within the framework of the extracurricular program prepared for students who are expected to graduate at the end of the second semester, and they opened the door of discussion, to answer students’ questions and inquiries, in an interactive and rich atmosphere.
