The Institute of Training and Development at Al-Istiqlal University, represented by Dr. Ghassan Omar, held an interactive lecture entitled "Be safe" for graduate students in the diploma and bachelor's programs, presented by lecturer Dr. Islam Daraghmeh.
Dr. Daraghmeh stressed the importance of arming students who are about to graduate with the knowledge skills that keep pace with the information explosion, and the continuous development in modern technologies and means, as they are a cornerstone for achieving personal and job security for the cadres of the Palestinian security forces.
Furthermore, Dr. Daraghmeh gave an overview of the reality of technology and social media platforms, their positive and negative repercussions on the psychological or social level, the phenomenon of electronic addiction, the mechanism for protection against blackmail, the procedures followed in the event of falling as a victim of blackmail, and identifying harmful applications on smartphones and how to avoid them, along with a short video dealing with one digital application.
This event comes within the framework of the periodic activities held by the Institute to raise the level of security and cultural awareness among students, in addition to qualifying them and preparing them comprehensively to engage in the field of work.
