Prof. Dr. Abu Osba met Prof. Walter Rozental, the President of the University, expressing his aspiration to activate the academic and research cooperation with Al-Istiqlal University. Also, he reviewed an introductory overview of the available disciplines and strategic vision to keep pace with international science, modern developments, and trends in line with the local, regional and global labor market.

Furthermore, the Jena Center for Reconciliation Studies, headed by Professor Martin Lehner, organized a workshop to discuss the "civil peace and security studies" proposed by "Al-Istiqlal" within the Erasmus project, and the possibility of partnership during the exploratory phase, ensuring the academic exchange, and supporting the scientific resources and practical experience, besides the technical aspects which are necessary for the project management and continuity.

Moreover, Al-Istiqlal University has recently obtained the accreditation of the Ministry of Higher Education for the Master's Program "Civil Peace and Security Studies", the first of its kind in Palestine, in response to the national needs related to the justice sector, the rule of law, and the field of national and human security.

It is noteworthy to mention that the “Armenia project” includes several universities in the Middle East and North Africa, aiming to develop master's programs in the field related to community reconciliation and security.
