The College of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at Al-Istiqlal University held a lecture entitled "Leadership and Crisis Management", presented by Maj. Gen. Dr. Muhammad al-Masri, the Director of the Palestine Center for Research and Strategic Studies, in the presence of Dr. Walid Khaliliya, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Abd-Alatif Abu Ouda, the Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Ms. Alaa Al-Shanti, the Assistant to the President for Communications, and the students of the “Crisis Management” program.
Furthermore, the meeting discussed the death of 21 citizens because of a fire in one of the residential buildings in the Jabalia refugee camp. Also, they discussed several axes related to this accident including how to deal with it, the study of its merits and taking note of all its aspects and circumstances, a careful evaluation of its consequences and its impact on the local public, besides the mechanism of controlling its course in light of its speed, dynamism, overlap, and finding solutions to address it, and coming up with lessons learned for subsequent experiences.
It is noteworthy to mention that this meeting comes within the scope of the methodology followed by the college, to enrich the knowledge of researchers, expand intellectual horizons and generate a state of brainstorming through an intense and free dialogue that touches the core of their specialization and sheds light on the Palestinian reality.
