Al-Istiqlal University participates in the "Be with us" campaign to combat gender-based violence

The Community Service and Continuing Education Center at Al-Istiqlal University participated in launching the "Be with us" campaign to combat gender-based violence, which was organized by the Women's Center of Ain Al-Sultan camp in the city of Jericho.

Ms. Mayssar and the executive director of the center stressed the importance of educating women about their rights, addressing violence, and strengthening legislation and laws that contribute to preserving women's lives and dignity.

Furthermore, Ms. Nidal Fatafta, from the "Community Service" indicated that the will and desire for change is the first step to living in freedom and dignity, as stipulated in all divine laws, especially since women are the main engine for the development and renaissance of societies, and the creators of generations, their health, and physical safety, so they play an important and tangible role in raising healthy people who can build their country and advance its development wheel forward.

Moreover, Dr. Wafaa Herbawi, a social worker, talked about the necessity of empowering women in all leadership positions and introducing individuals to public rights and duties, to enhance communication skills within the family and ensure the balance of societal relations.

During the meeting, the lawyer Assil Al-Jouba clarified the issues of conflict and discord in Sharia courts. At the end of the event, the team opened the gate of discussion and dialogue, besides answering the questions and inquiries of the participants.
